Two famous paintings of Jesus would come from another artistic genius is Raphael, who rivals Michaelangelo and da Vinci during the Renaissance period. Another famous works that reflect the crucifixion of Jesus are the 1610 and 1614 Baroque paintings of the Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens called The Elevation of the Cross and The Descent from the Cross respectively. These were the famous altarpieces made for the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp.
