Wolf Paintings

There are many kinds of famous wolf paintings in the world. Some of them are very valuable and a desirable painting for collectors. On this page I will present some of the most famous wolf paintings and show you a few so you can see the intensity in them.

The first painting I would like to write about is the Gathering Call. This is a beautiful watercolor painting depicting three timber wolves. This painting is done by Janet Wissmann. The timber wolf is a really big wolf and looks very solid and tall. The original Gathering Call watercolor painting cost around $2,000.

Rebecca Latham is another artist that has done a really great wolf painting. This one is 9 x 12 big and is a painting of one single worried timber wolf. This painting and other wolf paintings can be found at Latham Studios.

One of my favorite wolf paintings is called “on second thought”. It’s another painting by Janet Wissman and this time it’s a lone, pensive wolf. This is an exercise in getting the viewer’s attention. In this painting she wants the viewer to first notice the wolf’s eyes and face. These areas are painted with real fine details and colors, all on purpose. This causes the face and eyes of the wolf to be the center of interest in this painting.

Shades of autumn are another timber wolf painting. This painting is painted in watercolor (the original). It is framed in an attractive barnwood frame that really adds to the paintings completeness. The original of this wolf painting costs around $1,600 if you can find it for sale.
